What's New? 12 July, 2006: Today is the day we leave for our 9 day cruise to the Caribbean. Hopefully we will get a chance to relax and get away from the daily grind of Manhattan. We head for Grand Turk, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. This will also give me an opportunity to really put my new 5D along with some Tamron lenses to the test. 6 September , 2005: As you may have noticed, the site format has been changed. Personally, I think it looks better, is easier to read and navigate, and is more streamlined. Let me know what you think. 12 April, 2005: It's been 4 days since our return. What a wonderful and relaxing vacation this has been. My wife and I landed in Frankfurt where we picked up our rental car. From there we drove to Bremen and stayed with friends for 3 days. We then drove from Bremen to Vienna, Austria. Normally a 12 hour trip, shortened down to 10.5 thanks to the Autobahn gods. We stayed a total of 7 nights in lovely Vienna, and I must admit was a bit heartbroken when we had to leave. We then drove to Schwangau, Bavaria and visited King Ludwig's famous castles; Schloss Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. The last 2 days we made our way up to the black forest town of Schramberg, and from there drove back to Frankfurt. I am still in the process of developing my Agfa film, and organizing the digital photos. I'm happy to say the Mamiya worked like a champ. Check out the gallery and see some of the first few pictures available from this awesome piece of equipment. 25 March, 2005: Two days prior to our departure to Europe, my Arax decided to break down. 1/15 sticks, and all the high speeds such as 1/125 and 1/1000 are all the same, i.e.: no change in shutter speed. So, with natural panick reflexes decided to bite the bullet and buy a real MF camera. I ended up receiving via next-day air a brand new Mamiya RZ67 Pro II D, and a 50mm ULD lens, and 110mm f2.8 standard lens plus 2 backs. Great camera indeed, but a bit bigger than I thought it would be. Only time will tell how it will act in the field. More when I return... we're off to Europe! 04 March, 2005: I've added a new Studio Series to the gallery. All lighting provided courtesy of Smith-Victor tungsten hot lights. 03 March, 2005: My friend Vladimir has put up his own website to showcase his photos. Right now he has a Flower Erotica presentation. His site can be reached here: www.vyphoto.com 17 February, 2005: This is amazing! Either right click to save, or if your connection is fast enough, you can stream this extremely cool video: Jewish Reggae 05 February, 2005: I've begun adding some photos to the Equipment page. 03 February, 2005: Today is a terrible day. My wife's grandmother passed away this morning. She was very special to my wife, as she raised her while her mother was serving in the military. She's in a better place now though. May she rest in peace forever. 02 February, 2005: I'm back from Mauritius. I've also created a completely new gallery. This was much better than my last attempt. I've posted some of my Mauritius images to the gallery, plus added the rest that was previously residing on the Photo.net site. Hope you like it. 07 December, 2004: I've moved! As you can see, I now have a completely new domain name plus website. Unfortunately the web server I used to host my old site on grew a little long in the tooth. Basically, it couldn't handle the increased traffic, and I didn't feel like hosting my own server anymore. So now I am here. This new website is being hosted on a commercial server farm now. The farm is based on fully redundant, rack-mounted Unix servers connected directly to a DS45 backbone. No more down server! Anyway, the site is still under major construction. Come back often to see the updates. 05 December, 2004: A sad day. I have made the decision to move to iPowerWeb and to shutdown my faithful Mac based YDL server. This website you are reading now is the new incarnation of Vodamin.COM... |
